Growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lee Toldson learned early that adversity doesn’t ask for permission. Raised in a single-parent home, he faced depression, academic struggles, and a near-death experience, challenges that could have defined him. Instead, they refined him.
Sports became his outlet. Discipline became his pathway. Purpose became his anchor.
After earning a basketball scholarship to Western Wyoming Community College, Lee completed his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, where he was recognized as Physical Education and Health Student of the Year.
Over the past sixteen years, Lee has built a career defined by excellence and impact. He is a 2× Wyoming Physical Education Teacher of the Year, a multiple Coach of the Year recipient, and a championship-winning coach. On the international stage, he coached with PHD Hoops USA Basketball, earning one gold medal and two silver medals overseas, proving that leadership translates beyond borders.
But achievement alone didn’t define success.
After years of pushing at an elite level, Lee experienced severe burnout that resulted in a heart attack, a life-altering moment that forced him to rethink what winning truly means.
That turning point led him to write his self-help book, No Excuses: Embrace the Challenge – The ABC Method for Burnout, and to found No Excuses: Embrace the Challenge, a movement dedicated to helping high achievers perform at a high level without losing themselves in the process.
He is also the founder of the Raise the Bar movement, a call to elevate standards in leadership, education, athletics, and life, without sacrificing health, family, or identity.
Through his ABC Method — Align, Balance, Connect, Lee equips leaders, educators, athletes, and organizations with practical strategies for sustainable high performance.
His mission is simple:
Win without losing yourself.
Raise the bar — without breaking yourself.
